Mary

By Hilda Charlton

The Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, is an exemplary figure, personifying impeccable faith and trust in a higher power. From this source emanates Her strength and forbearance manifested during the many trials of Her sojourn upon Earth. She stands as an inspirational symbol of womanhood deified while yet in a human form. Mary has appeared in many visions, one being at Lourdes, France, where She called Herself, "The Immaculate Conception." This relates Her to the World-Mother concept of the divine creative principle.

This statue of Mary is in the woods of the Catskill Mountains in New York State.
